Warren Farm 2009

Well that is Warren Farm over for another year, a lot of old faces were back for another year and quite a few of new faces were there. The weather was a bit of a change from last years rain, the only rain that dropped was thru the night. Field five did exceptionally well as all new drains were put in at the back end of last year. A bus trip was held on the Wednesday to Exeter which those that went said they really enjoyed. There was a walk for those that wanted to go on it up and along Breen down. Below are some of the pictuers that were taken.

Brean Sands taken from the top of the Down

Some of the walkers that went up the down.                            This is what they had let themselves in for.

One of the information plaques that were telling you about the Down, the walk was just under 4 miles, steep at the start the rest is easy going. The height is 160-foot high.

As you can see this is the easy part of the walk one-and-a-half miles having to negotiate past the cattle to get to the Fort which was built in 1870. Then it was reused during world war two.

Just to proove to some people that Jeff did walk all the way.     Interesting reading of Brean Down Fort.

The rest of the group took the easy walk back to the start while I took the harder one up and over the top of the Down.

Taken on the way down.                                                      That was me in the distant.

A well deserved drink at the nearest watering hole.
