June 9th to 11th 2006 at Lyndon top Rutland water
This meet was hosted by Northants DA. A really well supported event. On Thursday it was arrive and chill out. Friday night a get together in the marquee, a bar for a welcoming drink, raffles, playing of Black Jack and live entertainment. Saturday was the raising of the Pennons in the Arena and then the start of the Volleyball competition. Coventry DA entered a team and played really well. The Opening Ceremony was at 11.00am followed by Children’s entertainment. Yes even a large screen TV to watch the England match was provided. The Mardi Gras then took place in the Arena. There were some really good costumes to see. Evening entertainment was jigging the night away with a live performing band. Sunday morning Camping Service in the Main Marquee. The family sports then took place of which there were some strong contenders, the winning team being Trent Valley. This was followed by the Final of the Volleyball Competition. The Closing Ceremony commenced at 1.00pm followed by the raffle. Then either chill out for a while or pack up for a safe tow home |
