Although the weather predictions were not as expected 12 Caravans, 6 Motor Homes, 2 Trailer Tents and 1 Tent attended the meet.
Our Stewards for the weekend Dave and Pam warmly welcomed everyone as they arrived and electric hook-ups were soon connected and everyone quickly set up, after food orders were taken for Saturday night's get together in the Village Hall.
Friday evening was a catch up with friends old and new.
Saturday daytime was a visit to Banbury, and Oxford for some, while a relaxing day was taken by most.
Saturday evening we all got together in the Hall where a Music Quiz was handed out and mulled over by everyone, with background music playing. Everyone chatted with old and new friends and were served with their food orders at 8pm. After everyone had eaten, the Music Quiz answers were checked and a winner with 18 out of 20 correct answers was awarded with his Prize. There followed several games of HOY, a card game on the lines of Bingo. Strange may it be, but Steve Murray was the lucky winner of ALL three games, and feeling rather embarrassed donated his last winnings to the Air Ambulance. A Bonus Ball was run during the evening and money from this was also donated to the Air Ambulance. it was a lovely evening with everyone enjoying each other’s company. The Hall was small, but really nicely kept, newly decorated with very good facilities, and nice and warm. By 11pm everyone was happy to return to their units having enjoyed a smashing evening.
Sunday morning brought the sun that had been forecast for Saturday. Everyone sat outside their units and then attended the Coffee Morning. Numbers of attendees were announced, and future meets discussed while all enjoyed their Coffee, Tea and biscuits.
Overall £32.00 was raised for the Air Ambulance, £24 from the Bonus Ball, £6 donated by Steve Murray and £2 from the HOY Game.
I am sure everyone who attended would like to send Dave and Pam a GREAT BIG THANK YOU for Stewarding the meet, in particular for organising the Hall's entertainment and ordering the food, which was really good. In addition thanks to Terry for the music and the Music Quiz.
